Painting Portraiture from Photos 07/24/24

This one-day painting class, Portraits in Oil, is designed for individuals with some experience in using oil as a medium. Throughout the course, participants will work from a large printed photo or an iPad image, with all necessary materials provided. The class will focus on painting portraits on canvas panels. The course will commence by teaching participants how to create a monochromatic value study, also known as grisaille, which will serve as the foundation for the subsequent color work. Participants will learn various techniques and approaches to effectively capture the likeness and essence of the subject.
